Before You Dig Australia has released an update in April 2026 to the BYDA app. These new app features are designed to make it easier to access safety information and improve visibility when planning work. 

What’s new? 

1. Quick access to Look Up and Live 

A new Look Up and Live (LUAL) button is available on the BYDA app home screen. This enables users to: 

  • Launch Look Up and Live directly from the BYDA app  
  • Access overhead powerline information for a job site  
  • Identify and manage overhead electrical risks

This enhancement makes it easy to assess both underground and overhead utility information within the one app.  

2. Map view for recent enquiries 

Users can now view recent enquiries in a map format, providing a clearer view of planned activity. 

This feature enables users to: 

  • Visualise multiple job locations in one place  
  • Quickly navigate between enquiries  
  • Coordinate planning across multiple job sites
